Super Bikes India-Hastur
Hero is now onto another model that has surprised many by its radical
looks and very un-Hero like disposition. Going by the way the video
promotes the Hastur, it seems apparent that Hero is eager for an image
overhaul. Known before for making economical, modest bikes such as the
Splendor, India’s top bike manufacturer is moving on to uncharted, more
exciting territory. The video certainly seems to suggest that
performance and design innovation are a top priority for Hero.he bike looks very sporty in the yellow grey colour scheme
The new Hastur boasts some healthy numbers in the newly released video. The bike is powered by a 620cc parallel-twin mill. Hero patented its own CSI cylinder head arrangement for the bike. Peak power capability stands at 80PS. This is quite a generous amount of power for a bike that weighs an airy 159.7 kgs. The result of all these figures is that Hero claims the bike goes from 0-100kmph in a breakneck 3.8 seconds, topping out at a speed of 240kmph.
While it is true that the model is still in its concept stages, it is exciting to see Hero dabbling in the performance bike segment.
It will be interesting to see how the market responds to a bike like the Hastur. Not just because it is quite a radical offering in and of itself, but also because it comes from a manufacturer like Hero, which does not have a track record of making such vehicles. No doubt the bike will be shipped to a few of Hero’s international markets. But in order to really succeed they will have to ensure that it appeals to superbike-loving Indian consumers, a steadily growing lot.
The bike will come in a expected price segment of "5-7 lacs"
the expected release date would be around mid of june 2016
