Helicopter drone developed by 'NASA" to explore Mars

NASA Scientists are currently working on helicopter-type drone that could help scout a trail for future exploration of the Martian surface. This idea comes from the fact that previous Mars rover missions were always limited by visibility of the rover itself.“If our rover was equipped with its very own helicopter that could see over tall objects in front of it, it would allow us to make decisions much more efficiently on which to command the rover,” explains Mike Meacham, from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.NASA jet propulsion laboratory is currently working on the project
He goes on to say, “You might think it’s actually easier to fly one of these helicopters on Mars because it’s actually 3/8th the gravity we have here on Earth, but it’s a hundred times less atmosphere.”
This makes aviation a little more complicated than you might assume“The way any of these helicopters work is the rotor blades spin up and they produce life because of the density of the atmosphere.the density of the atmosphere in the mars is thinner than on the earth so the Helicopter is made up of very lightweight material. So once you lose that density, you’ve got to spin even faster or get bigger rotor blades or get lighter.”The Helicopter will be used by the Rover as a gadget to find its projected way on the surface of the red rocky planet MARS
